Cerebrospinal fluid is a transparent, colorless fluid.
Secreted by: Specialized “Ependymal Cells” of “Choroid Plexus” in brain ventricles.
It is present in subarachnoid space and ventricles of the brain.
Its composition and pH are similar to blood plasma.
It carries glucose, oxygen and other nutrients to neurons and neuroglia.
Approximate daily production is 500ml per day.
Normal volume is 80 to 150 ml in adults.
